Button Fridge Magnets

These elegant magnets are made with a selection of vintage mother or pearl buttons from my buttonbox. The magnets are extra strong so, despite their neat size, they will attach great wads of paper to your fridge or noticeboard.

Bag in a pocket

Last year we asked our Farmers' Market customers what they were looking for in a shopping bag. What would make them abandon their plastic bags. Time and again the same words came up - the punters want a bag that is "foldable", "sturdy", & "roomy". So here it is.

This sturdy bag is large enough to carry home a week's vegetables yet folds up into its integral linen pocket ready to be tucked into another bag until there is shopping to carry. It is made of canvas and linen with a printed cotton lining. We think it is also rather stylish.

Honesty heart

The honesty plant (Lunaria annua) is one of the mainstays of our cutting garden in May. Its scented white and purple flowers combine with tulips to make beautiful bouquets.

After June we leave the plants to make seedpods. In August we dry them, strip off the green casings and then make these beautiful hearts.

The translucent hearts are reminiscent of mother-of pearl and look fantastic hung against a window.

Double sided heart made of dried honesty pods from our garden - c. 19 x 19 cm.

Fabric covered cuttings book

When I have finished with magazines I tear out all the pages that I want to keep and put the rest in the recycling bin. The cut outs photos get pasted into one of these fabric covered books - then when I am looking for ideas I can simple flick through and get inspiration. The books could also be used as a diary or garden journal. The cover is removable and the cover makes useful pockets for keeping cards or receipts. The cord tie keeps the book closed even when it is stuffed full of pictures.
